Highest Standard of Care
The mission of the Housatonic Child Care Center (HCCC) is to provide the highest standard of care for children between the ages of 12 weeks and 6 years whose families reside in Salisbury or, space permitting, surrounding towns; promote school readiness and socialization among our charges; provide financial assistance when necessary to ensure quality child care is available to all working parents; support our staff in their development; and reflect well on the town of Salisbury, whose public support makes our program possible. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.Essential Early Learning
The Housatonic Child Care Center (HCCC) believes that quality early childhood education is essential to future school success. HCCC offers quality childcare to all children regardless of family structure; socioeconomic, racial, religious and/or cultural backgrounds; gender; abilities; or preferred language. The goal of the early childhood program is to ensure that all children within our care will enter kindergarten ready to learn. We’re Accredited
In 2010, HCCC earned re-accreditation from the prestigious National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC accreditation is a testament to the excellence of our program, the developmental appropriateness of our curriculum, and the quality of our staff and their interactions with our children. Standards of ethical behavior in early childhood care and education are based on commitment to the following core values that are deeply rooted in the history of the field of early childhood care and education. We have made a commitment to:* Appreciate childhood as a unique and valuable stage of the human life cycle
* Base our work on knowledge of how children develop and learn
* Appreciate and support the bond between the child and family
* Recognize that children are best understood and supported in the context of family, culture, community, and society
* Respect the dignity, worth, and uniqueness of each individual (child, family member, and colleague)
* Respect diversity in children, families, and colleagues
* Recognize that children and adults achieve their full potential in the context of relationships that are based on trust and respect -
