Preschool News

Welcome to our new friend Max, and Rowan from the toddler room!

During the month of April we will be continuing our investigation of books. During the first week of the month we will be focusing on who uses books, and how books are used.

We invite all of the preschoolers to bring in a book to share with the class; we will read them together during group time.

In the second half of the month we will learn about the job authors and illustrators do. We will focus on rhyme and alliteration and read works by Dr. Suess, Mercer Mayer, and Mo Williams. We will look at the illustrations of Leo Leonni, Marcus Pfister, and Eric Carle and try making some illustrations of our own.

Please remember to bring a change of shoes and layers for variety of weather and outdoor play.

Happy April! Spring is in the air and we couldn’t be more excited! Warmer spring weather will bring us outside this month. We will be exploring themes such as weather, rain, and things that grow. We will be taking nature walks to explore our beautiful earth in honor of Earth Day!

We are excited to celebrate two first birthday’s this month! Alivia celebrates her first birthday April 9, and Forrest celebrates his first birthday on April 30!

As more of our infants begin eating finger foods, we remind parents to send children with enough snacks for lunch, as well as two snacks for breakfast and PM snack. We ask that all bottles, snacks, cups, and lunches are labeled with your child’s name and date.
